No Practice on Saturday, August 13 (AUSKF Championships)

To All Members:

There will be no practice this coming Saturday, August 13 due to the All US Kendo Federation (AUSKF) National Championships being held here in Atlanta.

We highly encourage everyone to come to the tournament from Aug 12-13. This event is only held every 3 years and will be a good chance to see Kendo practitioners from all over the United States come together and compete.

Let’s also give our support to the team from our federation, the South Eastern US Kendo Federation (SEUSKF). Especially to those competing from our very own dojo, Atlanta Kendo Kai.

The date and location for this year’s SEUSKF Tournament has been set:

October 22nd (Sat) – Tournament
October 23rd (Sun) – Promotional Testing

Location:
Middle Tennessee State University Campus Recreation Center, Murfreesboro, TN.

2nd Annual Ota Cup

For all Atlanta Kendo Kai members:

Our annual internal dojo tournament, the Ota Cup Taikai, is in it’s 2nd year and will be held on September 24, 2011 (Saturday).

Atlanta Kendo Kai at the 1st Annual Georgia Kendo Taikai

Atlanta Kendo Kai attended the 1st Georgia Kendo Association Taikai and Shinsa held from May 28-29 in John’s Creek, GA.

Congratulations to our dojo’s Derrick Alston for getting 3rd Place in the Mudansha Division and Jesse Schwed for getting 3rd place in Youth D.
